Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Brad Marchand!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Stu Bennett!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Roger Salmon and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marchand throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Bennett counters with a nice uppercut.
Marchand slips under a jab.
As Bennett looks to move away, Marchand throws a big counter combo bu Bennett just gets out of the way.

Marchand clinches with his opponent.
Still in the clinch, Bennett scores with a nice short uppercut.

Bennett breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Marchand looks to land a right hand but Bennett moved out of range.
Bennett bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Bennett throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Stu Bennett seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bennett ducks under a wild hook from Marchand.
Bennett lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bennett walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Marchand fails to land the takedown.
Marchand throws an off balance right hand
enabling Bennett to counter with a crisp jab.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bennett stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.


Marchand is rocked!
Bennett fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Marchand to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Marchand looks to clinch but Bennett throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Marchand taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Stu Bennett!
