The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Durham walks into a stiff left hand from Reese.
Durham takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Reese connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Durham momentarily.
Durham uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Reese.
No joy there for Reese, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Durham takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Durham tries to move into range but Reese moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Reese scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Reese misses with a straight right.

Durham moves out of range of the strikes.
And Durham tries to counter it with a takedown but Reese pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Reese lands a nice shot to the body.
Reese lands a slapping body shot.
Reese misses with a hook to the body

and Durham counters with a single leg into guard. Reese didn't expect that.
Durham distracts Reese with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Reese wants to stand up but Durham is controlling him.

Durham thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Reese wants to get back to his feet but Durham passes into half guard.
Reese tries to kick Durham off but Durham keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Durham is trying to work for a kimura but Reese is defending well.
Durham thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Reese is trying to stand back up but Durham is controlling him

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Reese on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Durham winds up and cracks Reese with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Reese looks like he's trying to stand up.
Reese tries to kick Durham off in order to stand up. Durham Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Reese bucks up and tries to throw Durham off but instead Durham has got his back!

Durham is cranking Reese's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Reese! He's tightened the choke and Reese is tapping out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Jay Durham!
