Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Charles Emerson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Charles Emerson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jon Jones!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Reed Andrews and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Emerson misses with a two punch combination.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Jones prevents Emerson from breaking the clinch.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Emerson as Jones tries to tie him up.

Emerson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Nice sprawl there from Jones as Emerson shoots in.
Emerson throws a left and a right that both miss
and Jones counters with a thumping low kick.
Emerson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jones is looking to control Emerson's arms but Emerson gets an underhook and turns him. Now Jones has his back to the cage.
Jones goes for a takedown in the clinch but Emerson prevents it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Emerson keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Jones's efforts to push away.
Jones is trying to break the clinch but Emerson is controlling him.

Emerson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Jones shoots for a double leg takedown but Emerson sprawls well. He's pushed Jones's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Emerson doesn't manage to clinch there - Jones circles away.
Charles Emerson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Emerson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jones moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Emerson dives in for a single leg takedown but Jones sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Jones thows a body kick. Emerson tries to catch it but that hurt him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Jones shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Jon Jones seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Emerson misses with a jab, cross combination.
Jones throws a combination. Emerson tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
A looping hook to the body misses from Emerson. Jones does a little dance to reset his feet.
Horrible takedown attempt by Emerson or perhaps it was just good defense by Jones, which made it look bad.

Jones closes the distance and clinches.
Jones has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Emerson after a bit of a struggle.
Jones is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Emerson is defending well.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Emerson tries to clinch but Jones is having none of it.
Emerson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

A low kick from Emerson is predictable there
and Jones finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.

Emerson shoots in looking for a takedown. Jones tries to sprawl out of it but Emerson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jones manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Jones has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Jones has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Emerson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Emerson throwing strikes but missing.
Jones striking off his back but it's not causing Emerson any problems.
Jones is trying to keep Emerson in close.
Jones looking to hit a scissor sweep but Emerson is one step ahead there.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Jones keeping moving, preventing Emerson from controlling successfully.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Jon Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Jones shoots in and drives through. Emerson sprawls well.
Emerson tries to clinch but Jones moves out of range.
Emerson takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

and Jones counters with a series of strikes. Emerson will be more careful next time no doubt.

Jones fakes the leg kick and cracks Emerson in the body.
Jones dives in and grabs Emerson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Emerson pushes down on Jones's head and hops out.

It looks like Charles Emerson has been cut.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Emerson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jones as he jumps to the side.
Jones connects with a body shot that sends Emerson's belly button to the back.

Emerson misses with a few strikes there.
Emerson will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body.

Emerson throws a series of punches but Jones moves out of range.
Jones shoots in but no luck this time.
Emerson looking to land some kicks to the body here.

Emerson seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Charles Emerson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Emerson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jones sneaks out the side door and pushes Emerson away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Emerson tries to bum rush Jones with a series of wild strikes but Jones uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Jones is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Jon Jones is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Jones pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Emerson back to the cage. Jones follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jon Jones comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Jones has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
