PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Egill Dagursson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zip Talahan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dagursson's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Spirit of the Hawk. The key to victory for Egill Dagursson has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Egill Dagursson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Zip Talahan!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Dirk Anderson and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dagursson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Talahan moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Talahan looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Dagursson works over Talahan's head and body with a nice combination.
Dagursson shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Talahan eats them both and turns towards Dagursson to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Talahan closes the distance and clinches up with Dagursson, looking for a takedown. Talahan pushes Dagursson against the cage but Dagursson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Talahan has taken the fight to the clinch.
Dagursson wants to get back to striking at distance but Talahan won't allow it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Talahan keeps control of Dagursson as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Talahan is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Dagursson can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Dagursson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Talahan on the ground.

Talahan swings around for an armbar but Dagursson sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Talahan's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dagursson wants to stand but Talahan is controlling his posture from full guard.
Dagursson looking to sit in guard and control but Talahan gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Talahan stands and throws Dagursson's legs to the side, diving into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Zip Talahan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Talahan is working for a rear naked choke. Dagursson is not defending it well and Talahan has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Dagursson refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Dagursson's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:53 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Zip Talahan!
A very excited looking Zip Talahan rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
Egill Dagursson spoke after the fight, saying 'I will come back stronger.'.
