Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Norris Small (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lee Shiverdecker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Norris Small!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lee Shiverdecker!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Cecil Peabody and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shiverdecker shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Shiverdecker was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
You can see the frustration on Small's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Small is not content to let Shiverdecker control the position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Shiverdecker goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Small rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Shiverdecker's guard! Nice work there by Small!
Small postures up in Shiverdecker's guard and throws a big left but Shiverdecker blocks it.
Shiverdecker is trying to keep Small in close.

Small lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Shiverdecker pulls Small in close to prevent any damage.

Shiverdecker is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Small slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Shiverdecker controls Small momentarily but Small frees himself.
Small wants to get up but he can't break Shiverdecker's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shiverdecker is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Small really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Small thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Shiverdecker looking to hit a scissor sweep but Small is one step ahead there.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Small is trying hard to land a takedown here. Shiverdecker sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Small is working Shiverdecker over with some ground and pound from side control.
Small content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Small is trying to get an arm triangle but Shiverdecker is defending well.
Shiverdecker is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Small asserts his dominance and retains side control.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The referee asks Small politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Small prefers to stall for the moment though.

Small decides to stand back up.
Shiverdecker throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Small.

Small shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Shiverdecker's guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Shiverdecker controls Small momentarily but Small frees himself.
Small with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Small slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


A nice combination there by Shiverdecker.
Small takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Lee Shiverdecker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shiverdecker misses with a two punch combination.

Shiverdecker shoots in and gets a takedown into Small's guard.
Shiverdecker trying to control but Small is working from the bottom.

Small is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Small bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Shiverdecker's guard.

Small lands a couple of elbows.

Small drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Shiverdecker dives on top into guard.

Shiverdecker wants to stand and escape but instead Small has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.


Shiverdecker is working an open guard so Small takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Shiverdecker closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Small to the mat! Small manages to get full guard.

Small looking for a guillotine here but Shiverdecker defends easily.
Small is pulling down on Shiverdecker's head. It's preventing any offense from Shiverdecker, at least for the moment.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Small will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Shiverdecker tries to counter with a clinch but Small shakes him off and moves away.

Shiverdecker closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Small to the mat! Small manages to get full guard.
Shiverdecker wants to control from the top but Small keeps moving.
Small managing to control the position.
Shiverdecker looking to sit in guard and control but Small gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Lee Shiverdecker showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Small fails to pull guard.
Shiverdecker wants to get back to striking at distance but Small won't allow it.

Small jumps guard and drags Shiverdecker to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Small pulls Shiverdecker in close to prevent any damage.

Shiverdecker throws a big right hand that misses.
Small wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Shiverdecker decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Small, up you get!

Small manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Small is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Small tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Shiverdecker.
Shiverdecker keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Still in half guard, Small seems content to control.
Shiverdecker avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Small.

Small with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Shiverdecker is trying to stand back up but Small is controlling him
Small tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Shiverdecker.
Small will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Small looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Small is looking for a kimura here.
Shiverdecker is looking to control Small's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Shiverdecker avoid being mounted?
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Shiverdecker on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Small looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Shiverdecker will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Small shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Shiverdecker as he avoids it easily.
Small keeps the fight on the outside.
Small fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Shiverdecker avoids it really well and circles away.
It seemed like Shiverdecker was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Norris Small. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Small tries to score a power double leg takedown but Shiverdecker sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Small somewhat.

And that's the end of the fight!
Lee Shiverdecker comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Shiverdecker has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
