Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Egill Dagursson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dickson Obinha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dickson Obinha will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Egill Dagursson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dickson Obinha!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Santiago Holmes and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Dagursson, right into the meat.
Obinha has a takedown stuffed.
A slapping leg kick lands for Dagursson.

Obinha takes the fight into the clinch.
Dagursson is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Dagursson wants the takedown. Obinha is fighting it off but Dagursson persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Obinha's guard against the cage.
Dagursson stays in close to Obinha's body and controls the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Obinha is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Dagursson tries to score with some ground and pound. Obinha controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Obinha wants to clinch up but Dagursson keeps it at a distance.
Dagursson throws a leg kick which misses Obinha's front leg but catches the back leg as Obinha tries to avoid it.

Dagursson lands a nice leg kick that just misses Obinha's sensitive parts.
Obinha tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Dagursson defends well and Obinha ends up having to push Dagursson into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Dagursson is looking to counter with head kicks.

The fight stays on the outside here - Obinha looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Dagursson tries for a takedown but Obinha sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

And Dagursson counters with a quick kick to the body but Obinha blocks it.

Obinha has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight.
Obinha tries to close the distance and clinch up but Dagursson swats him away and circles back towards the center.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Dagursson remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Dagursson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Dagursson takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Obinha scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Dagursson manages to mount him!

Dagursson is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Obinha is surviving well by controlling Dagursson's body position as best he can.

Dagursson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Dagursson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Obinha lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

and Dagursson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Obinha's guard.

Dagursson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Obinha for as long as he can get away with.

Dagursson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Obinha looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Dagursson connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Obinha some visible discomfort.

Dagursson decides to stand back up. Dagursson steps back and let's Obinha get back to his feet.

Dagursson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Dickson Obinha has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Dagursson jumps guard but Obinha stands there with Dagursson around his waist. Dagursson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Egill Dagursson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Obinha is looking to break free of the clinch but Dagursson has double underhooks.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Dagursson has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Obinha uses from the top position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dagursson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
