Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 4 - 1, fighting out of London, Jose Medeiros!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Young One!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, William Gold and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
One throws a lazy head kick

and Medeiros moves into the clinch.
Medeiros tries to throw a body punch but One avoids it by throwing Medeiros back against the cage.
One landing some nice looking knees to the body.
One using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Medeiros has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Medeiros is trying to drag One to the mat but One just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

One breaks from the clinch.
One misses with a head kick.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Medeiros is defended easily by One.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Medeiros moves away from the strike by One.
Medeiros moves out of range as One strikes.

One throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Medeiros counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Medeiros looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Medeiros lands with a punch from half guard.
Medeiros controlling the pace.
Medeiros wants to pass the guard but One is defending well.
Medeiros thows a huge punch but One dodges it nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Medeiros is thwarting One's attempts to control the position.
One felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Medeiros wants to take a breather but One is having none of it.
Medeiros has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Medeiros content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Medeiros looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
One is refusing to be controlled, as Medeiros sits in half guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Medeiros changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. One tries to avoid it but Medeiros manages to keep hold of a leg and drag One to the ground. One escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jose Medeiros. That's going to take a lot out of him.

One missing with a left hand there. Medeiros was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Young One seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
One throws a sloppy head kick

and Medeiros counters with a nice double leg into side control. One won't be happy with that.

Medeiros is trying to get an arm triangle but One is defending well.
One is not content to let Medeiros control the position.
Medeiros controls the position from side control.

One really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Medeiros. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

One tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Medeiros wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Medeiros wants to control but One is keeping him busy.
Medeiros moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
One can't do much from the bottom here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

One regains half guard, as Medeiros was trying to land strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

and Medeiros counters with a takedown into side control.
Medeiros grinds an elbow into One's temple.
The ground and pound from Medeiros seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Medeiros is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that One can do to turn this around?
One is not content to let Medeiros control the position.
You can see the frustration on One's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Medeiros is looking to take a break and control but One is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

One is working to avoid the ground and pound but Medeiros connects with a decent elbow.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Medeiros cracks One with a big right hand but One just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Medeiros misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Medeiros is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down One's shoulder. That is not cool.
Medeiros tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if One can do anything to dispel that myth.

Medeiros postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Medeiros wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by One, who protects the arm well.
One is looking to reverse the position.
Medeiros trying to control the action but One is working from the bottom.

Medeiros has hold of One's arm. He's looking for a kimura. One seems comfortable defending it but Medeiros has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! One is real pain and he's forced to tap out! One is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Medeiros couldn't care less - he's delighted!
