The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Rousey looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Smith has been working on his balance at Nonprofit Vegas Elite $50 ($1000 value), so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Rousey.

Rousey throws a combination. Smith tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

It looks like Wes Smith has been cut.
Smith keeps the fight on the outside.

Rousey decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Rousey is stalling here. Smith is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Rousey seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Smith has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Smith goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Rousey has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Smith but great work by Rousey.

Rousey is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Smith is trying to escape and Rousey transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Smith is forced to tap! Nice work there by Rousey! Very nice indeed!
