Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mary Dunlap (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacob McGreary (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jacob McGreary is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mary Dunlap!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jacob McGreary!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Darius Henderson and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGreary with a poor takedown
and Dunlap counters with a low kick, right behind McGreary 's knee.

McGreary moves into range and clinches up with Dunlap.
McGreary keeps control of Dunlap as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
McGreary lands a damaging elbow.


It looks like Mary Dunlap has been cut.
Dunlap can't find room to land a body shot as McGreary controls the action.
McGreary drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

McGreary jumps into guard, dragging Dunlap to the mat.
Dunlap content to stall in guard here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

McGreary is looking for a triangle here but Dunlap uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Dunlap tries to pull guard but McGreary holds him up against the cage and eventually Dunlap drops back down to his feet.

Dunlap has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. McGreary avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Dunlap blocking some punches.
McGreary pushes Dunlap back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
McGreary tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
McGreary throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Dunlaps head.
McGreary wants to stall.
Dunlap wants to stall.
Dunlap blocks an elbow strike.
McGreary manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Dunlap misses with the head strike.
We've been informed that McGreary has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
McGreary tries a body shot but Dunlap blocks it.
McGreary trying to control the position but instead, Dunlap has worked for underhooks and has pushed McGreary into the cage.

McGreary gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
McGreary creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Dunlap is trying to pull guard but McGreary turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Dunlap tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. McGreary smiles and moves away.
McGreary fails with an attempt to clinch.

McGreary clinches with his opponent.
McGreary lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
McGreary looking to throw knees to the head but Dunlap is blocking nicely.

Dunlap pulls guard.
McGreary trying to control the position from guard on top but Dunlap is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

McGreary avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Dunlap is looking for a triangle but McGreary pushes his legs off easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fight stays on the outside here - McGreary looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Dunlap shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. McGreary defends it nicely.
McGreary blocks a head kick by Dunlap.
Dunlap tries to clinch there but McGreary circles away.

McGreary shoots in looking for a takedown. Dunlap tries to sprawl out of it but McGreary keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Dunlap manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
No joy there for McGreary, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Dunlap.
McGreary dives in for a single leg takedown but Dunlap sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
McGreary tries a knee to the head but Dunlap blocks it.

McGreary wants to hit a switch here but Dunlap passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for McGreary there!
McGreary has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
McGreary is working to get back to half guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Dunlap wants to finish this one by submission but McGreary is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Dunlap.
McGreary is wriggling around trying to escape.

Dunlap get's back to his feet.
Jacob McGreary seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McGreary misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
McGreary throws a sloppy head kick and Dunlap moves out of range easily.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Dunlap fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt McGreary.
Dunlap avoids the head kick by McGreary.
McGreary shoots in and drives through. Dunlap sprawls well.
McGreary throws a right hand that Dunlap ducks under and follows up with a left that Dunlap also avoids with ease.
McGreary shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Dunlap closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. McGreary quickly recovers to half guard.
Still in half guard, Dunlap seems content to control.

Dunlap is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, McGreary has managed to free his arm - good work.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if McGreary can do anything to dispel that myth.

McGreary swats away the attempt to clinch by Dunlap.
McGreary takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
McGreary takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

McGreary shoots in and drives through. Dunlap sprawls well.

Dunlap throws a combination but it was largely blocked by McGreary.

McGreary tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Dunlap manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Mary Dunlap is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
McGreary is looking to clinch but Dunlap is avoiding it.
McGreary tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Dunlap defends well and McGreary ends up having to push Dunlap into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
McGreary pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

McGreary must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
McGreary seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Dunlap escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. McGreary gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
McGreary wants to stand and escape but instead Dunlap has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
