Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jackson Hawethorn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Eggman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dan Eggman acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jackson Hawethorn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dan Eggman!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Jonathan Paton and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hawethorn lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Hawethorn looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Dan Eggman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Eggman tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Hawethorn manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Eggman is defended easily by Hawethorn.
The fight stays on the outside here - Eggman looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Hawethorn shoots in for a takedown but Eggman shows good takedown defense.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

It looks like Eggman might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Eggman wants to pass the guard but Hawethorn is keeping the position.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Eggman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hawethorn swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Hawethorn shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Eggman sprawls well. Eggman wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hawethorn gets slowly back to his feet.
Eggman will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Hawethorn fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Eggman avoids it really well and circles away.
Eggman tries to close the distance and clinch but Hawethorn swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Eggman changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hawethorn tries to avoid it but Eggman manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hawethorn to the ground. Hawethorn escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Eggman is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Hawethorn dives in for a single leg takedown but Eggman sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Eggman's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Eggman drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Eggman looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hawethorn is fending him off so far but Eggman persists. Nope, Hawethorn circles away and we're back to standing.
Jackson Hawethorn is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Hawethorn doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Hawethorn is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Eggman defends well.

Hawethorn is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Eggman is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Eggman has his hands clasped together around Hawethorn's back. He's all about the action.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Eggman wants to get back to his feet.

Eggman has one foot on Hawethorn's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Hawethorn circles away from the clinch attempt.
Hawethorn tries to clinch but Eggman moves out of range.
Eggman slaps away a takedown attempt from Hawethorn, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Eggman tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hawethorn sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Eggman somewhat.

Hawethorn shoots in looking for a takedown. Eggman tries to sprawl out of it but Hawethorn keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Eggman manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Hawethorn closes the distance and clinches up with Eggman, looking for a takedown. Hawethorn pushes Eggman against the cage but Eggman circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Eggman got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hawethorn has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Eggman has managed to get both his arms back between Hawethorn's legs - danger averted.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Eggman dives in and grabs Hawethorn's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hawethorn pushes down on Eggman's head and hops out.
Eggman shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hawethorn pinned against the cage. Hawethorn gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Eggman throws a head kick but Hawethorn moves out of range.
Hawethorn shoots in but no luck this time.
No luck for Hawethorn with that takedown attempt.
Eggman scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

Eggman moves into the clinch successfully.
Eggman pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Hawethorn is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Eggman is keeping busy.
Eggman tries for a takedown but Hawethorn manages to get underhooks.
Eggman is working for takedown but Hawethorn is calmly controlling the position for now.

Hawethorn has Eggman pressed against the cage, preventing Eggman from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Eggman is pressed up against the cage. Hawethorn has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Eggman down to the mat. Eggman avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Jackson Hawethorn has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Dan Eggman is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Well Eggman has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
