Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Zac Rogers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gregor MCconnor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gregor MCconnor will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Zac Rogers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Gregor MCconnor!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Colin Fotheringham and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rogers throws a jab but it's blocked by MCconnor.
MCconnor changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rogers tries to avoid it but MCconnor manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rogers to the ground. Rogers escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Rogers slaps away a takedown attempt from MCconnor, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Rogers fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. MCconnor sprawls well initially but Rogers persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Rogers not landing any meaningful shots this time.
MCconnor regains full guard. Nicely done.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
MCconnor avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
MCconnor is looking to stand up but Rogers isn't so interested in that idea.

MCconnor escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rogers gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

MCconnor manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Rogers takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Rogers stops MCconnor from getting back to his feet.
Rogers frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Gregor MCconnor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

MCconnor changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rogers tries to avoid it but MCconnor manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rogers to the ground. Rogers escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Rogers really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

MCconnor fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Rogers avoids it really well and circles away.

MCconnor looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rogers is fending him off so far but MCconnor persists. Nope, Rogers circles away and we're back to standing.

Rogers looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks MCconnor with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
MCconnor has hold of Rogers's hands but Rogers slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Rogers shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as MCconnor sprawls well. MCconnor wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rogers gets slowly back to his feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Rogers is working MCconnor over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Rogers wants to control from the top but MCconnor keeps moving.
MCconnor is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

MCconnor has his foot on Rogers's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rogers works his way back into a safe position though.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

MCconnor has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rogers can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Zac Rogers showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rogers, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
