PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Vinnie Longworth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Ground (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ground tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Longworth defends well and Ground ends up having to push Longworth into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Ground gets caught flat footed, as Longworth shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Ground wants to sweep here but Longworth controlling him for the moment.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ground is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Ground is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Ground is keen to just control but Longworth is a slippery customer.
Ground works his way into side control.
Ground has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at GnP Factory Elite Gym. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
Longworth wants to control but Ground postures up.

Ground is working to tighten his grip on Longworth's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Longworth has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Ground is really squeezing tight and eventually Longworth passes out! Ground breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
