Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between BJ Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kristofir Wright (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Penn's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, BJ Penn. Wright is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by You're Going Down. Kristofir Wright is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wright shoots in for a takedown but Penn shows good takedown defense.
Kristofir Wright seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wright fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Penn throws a hook to the side of Wright's head but Wright sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Wright is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Penn.

Wright throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Wright tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Penn paws at him with a jab and circles away.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Wright shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Penn pushes Wright off looking to stand but Wright dives back in and keeps control.
Wright wants to lay and pray for a moment but Penn keeps working.
Penn is trying to stand up here but Wright is controlling him well.
Wright is pressing down on Penn's thigh, looking to free his foot. Penn is holding on for now.
Wright wants to advance to full mount but Penn doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Wright shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Penn pinned against the cage. Penn gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
BJ Penn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kristofir Wright.

Penn cracks Wright with a good jab.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Penn lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Wright has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Wright and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

BJ Penn is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Penn is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Wright looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Penn shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Penn avoids the head kick by Wright.
Penn misses with a hook. Wright ducked under it nicely.

Penn moves out of range as Wright throws a body kick.
Wright misses with a kick to the body.

Wright takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Wright will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Penn digs a good hook to Wright's body.
Wright with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Penn to score with a decent uppercut.
Penn feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Wright's calf.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kristofir Wright's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Wright takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Penn pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Penn throws a big shot that misses.
Penn will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Penn lands a nice looking kick to the body. Wright takes a step back to recover.
A low kick from Wright is predictable there
and Wright takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Penn scores with a punch to the head.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Kristofir Wright's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
