Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Fabio Lima (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Barry Shirk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lima comes to the cage accompanied by Enter Sandman, Metallica. Fabio Lima could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Barry Shirk's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lima closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Lima lands in his opponent's guard.

Shirk had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Lima is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Shirk Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Lima's back instead.
Lima rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Lima is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Shirk is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Shirk drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Shirk jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Lima is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Shirk frees his head nicely. Oh but Lima has switched to an armbar! Shirk is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
