Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Carl Sarmiento (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Gotti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Carl Sarmiento! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, John Gotti! The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Michael Johnstone and Winston Alpacca.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sarmiento works over Gotti's head and body with a nice combination.
Gotti tries to keep at a distance but Sarmiento has taken the fight into the clinch.
Sarmiento escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Gotti throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Gotti throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Nice body kick from Gotti. Sarmiento moves out of range of the body kick. Sarmiento misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Gotti enables Sarmiento to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Gotti manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Sarmiento is pulling down on Gotti's head. It's preventing any offense from Gotti, at least for the moment. Gotti prevents Sarmiento from getting back to his feet.

 That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Sarmiento is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Sarmiento has his hands on Gotti's head, controlling the position.

 That's three minutes gone in the round. Gotti is staying active underneath Sarmiento, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Sarmiento trying to mount his opponent but Gotti defends it. Sarmiento prevents Gotti from standing back up.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Sarmiento with the ground and pound but Gotti uses the opportunity to regain guard. Gotti wants to stand but Sarmiento is controlling the position.
 The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Gotti throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
so Sarmiento counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Sarmiento pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Gotti is keeping the position for now.
Gotti has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Sarmiento is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position. Sarmiento changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Gotti fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Sarmiento shoots for a double leg takedown but Gotti sprawls well. He's pushed Sarmiento's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.

Gotti lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. John Gotti seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gotti goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Sarmiento looking to score a takedown here. Gotti is defending well but Sarmiento drives through and ends up in Gotti's guard. Sarmiento controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Sarmiento wants to pass the guard but Gotti is keeping the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sarmiento slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Gotti is breathing heavily. Sarmiento connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Gotti some visible discomfort.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Sarmiento in side control, just content to control the action for now. Gotti is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Sarmiento is trying to ground and pound but Gotti uses the momentary lack of control by Sarmiento to regain half guard.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Sarmiento controlling the action here. Sarmiento working Gotti over with strikes. Sarmiento stops Gotti from getting back to his feet.

 The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Gotti misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Sarmiento shoots in and bounces Gotti off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Sarmiento seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Sarmiento looking to pass the guard.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sarmiento accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Sarmiento is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sarmiento has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Sarmiento has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.

Gotti is trying to stand up here but Sarmiento is controlling him well. Gotti takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Sarmiento in particular looking to stall. Sarmiento lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. John Gotti has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
 That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Sarmiento wants to stand but Gotti has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
 The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Carl Sarmiento is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Gotti pulls out of a head kick attempt.

 That's three minutes gone in the round. Gotti has hold of Sarmiento's hands but Sarmiento slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

 That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Sarmiento trying to mount his opponent but Gotti defends it. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Sarmiento is nestled in close to Gotti, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Sarmiento is taking a breather. Gotti says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
 The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Sarmiento rushes Gotti and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Carl Sarmiento is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Sarmiento taking a breather.
And that's the end of the fight! Carl Sarmiento showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Sarmiento, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
