PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Skyler Myles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Moneybags (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that John Moneybags was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Skyler Myles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Moneybags!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Bruno Lombardi and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Myles fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Myles closes the distance and clinches up with Moneybags, looking for a takedown. Myles pushes Moneybags against the cage but Moneybags circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Moneybags jabs Myles to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Moneybags misses with a series of wild punches.
Moneybags works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Myles walks into a stiff left hand from Moneybags.
Myles tries to clinch there but Moneybags circles away.
Moneybags looks for the body kick but Myles saw that one coming.
Myles wants to clinch
and Moneybags counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Moneybags keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Skyler Myles. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Myles swats away the attempt to clinch by Moneybags.
Myles changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Moneybags tries to avoid it but Myles manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Moneybags to the ground. Moneybags escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Myles looks to land a combination but Moneybags avoids it well.
Moneybags throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Moneybags misses with a combination
and Myles counters with a one-two to the body.
Myles shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Moneybags holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Myles tries to land knees in the clinch but Moneybags avoids the damage to the body.
Moneybags throws a head punch that misses.
Myles fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Moneybags softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Moneybags takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Myles has Moneybags pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Moneybags manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Moneybags.

Moneybags breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A chopping leg kick lands by Moneybags.
Moneybags takes a swing at Myles's ribcage but misses.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Myles shoots for a double leg takedown but Moneybags sprawls well. He's pushed Myles's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Moneybags swats away the attempt to clinch by Myles.
Moneybags takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.


It looks like John Moneybags has been cut.
Moneybags stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Moneybags wants it to stay on the feet.
Moneybags scores with a body shot.
No joy there for Moneybags, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Moneybags thuds a left hand into Myles's body.
Myles slips under a jab from Moneybags.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Moneybags with a jab.

Moneybags moves into the clinch.
Myles is looking to take this one to the mat.
Moneybags tries a body shot but Myles blocks it.
Myles jumps guard but Moneybags stands there with Myles around his waist. Myles gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Moneybags tries to work over Myles's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Moneybags pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Myles will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Moneybags misses the shot to the body.
Moneybags scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Myles ducks under a wild hook from Moneybags.
Moneybags circles away from the clinch attempt
and Moneybags counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Moneybags throws a wild body kick that Myles sees coming a mile off.

Myles clinches with his opponent.

Myles pulls guard effortlessly.
Moneybags won't allow Myles to sweep him here.
Myles trying to keep a closed guard but Moneybags is proving a slippery customer.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Moneybags throws a big elbow that misses.

Myles looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Moneybags has picked Myles up and slammed him! Myles can't keep hold of the triangle and Moneybags manages to pass to side control!
Myles is looking to regain half guard here but Moneybags keeps moving and retains side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Moneybags dominated that round.
The cut man is working on John Moneybags's cut.
That's time! Back to the action!


Myles keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
John Moneybags seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Myles takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Moneybags tries to clinch but Myles is having none of it.
Myles throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Moneybags's waist but Moneybags gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Myles off to one side.
Moneybags rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Myles counters with a slapping leg kick.
Moneybags has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Moneybags works over Myles's head and body with a nice combination.


Myles is rocked!
Myles slips under a jab from Moneybags.
Oh Myles is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Myles moves away from the strike by Moneybags.
Myles displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Moneybags throws out the jab.
Moneybags misses with a jab, cross combination.
Moneybags throws a series of punches but Myles avoids them all with ease.
Moneybags misses with a straight left.
Moneybags misses with a looping left.
Myles moves out of range as Moneybags strikes.
The fighters circling - Moneybags throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Moneybags waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Myles.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Moneybags throws out a loose jab but Myles uses good head movement to avoid it.
Moneybags throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Myles.
Myles ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Moneybags throws a looping overhand right but Myles ducks down to avoid it.
Myles avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Moneybags misses with a straight left.
Skyler Myles is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
A head kick misses from Moneybags.
Moneybags misses with a double jab.
Moneybags is breathing heavily.
Myles defending well as Moneybags loads up on a big left hand.
Moneybags looks to land a right hand but Myles moved out of range.
Myles closes the distance but Moneybags moves to the side
and Moneybags counters with a huge overhand right that connects right on the temple, sending him crumpling, face first to the floor! This one is all over! What a knockout!
