PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Daley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Little Tiger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Paul Daley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Little Tiger!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Sandra Marshall and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tiger tries to clinch but Daley is having none of it.
Daley throws a front kick aimed at Tiger's knee but Tiger avoids it well.
Daley lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
A slapping body kick lands there for Daley.
Daley throws a quick inside leg kick.
Tiger tries to close the distance and clinch up but Daley swats him away and circles back towards the center.
A swing and a miss from Daley.
The fighters circling - Daley throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
An inside leg kick lands from Daley.
Daley moves away from the strike by Tiger.
Tiger changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Daley tries to avoid it but Tiger manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Daley to the ground. Daley escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Daley avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Tiger is looking to clinch but Daley is avoiding it.
Tiger avoids a kick to the body.
Tiger ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Tiger throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Daley throws a nice outside leg kick.
Tiger should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Tiger fails with a takedown attempt.

Daley keeps the fight on the outside.
Daley throws a lazy uppercut
and Tiger counters with a three punch combo that has Daley backing up. Daley nods at Tiger to acknowledge the strikes.
Daley lands a jab to the head.
Tiger shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Daley sprawls well. Daley wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Tiger gets slowly back to his feet.
Paul Daley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Little Tiger.
Daley throws a hook to the side of Tiger's head but Tiger sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Daley throws a hook but Tiger blocks it.
Daley misses with a hook. Tiger ducked under it nicely.

Daley is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Tiger changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Daley tries to avoid it but Tiger manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Daley to the ground. Daley escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Daley throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Daley throws a leg kick which misses Tiger's front leg but catches the back leg as Tiger tries to avoid it.
Tiger fails to land the takedown.
Tiger looks winded!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Daley bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Tiger's head.
Tiger takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Paul Daley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Daley throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Daley throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
A leg kick checked by Tiger.
Tiger displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Daley throws out the jab.
Daley dips to his left and cracks Tiger with an uppercut!
Daley lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Daley throws a good cross that connects.
Daley is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Tiger.
Daley throws a low kick but it's checked well by Tiger.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Daley. Tiger shrugs it off though.

Daley clinches.
Daley tries for a takedown but Tiger manages to get underhooks.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Tiger being controlled against the cage.
Tiger on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Tiger is trying to pull guard but Daley turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Tiger can't get the takedown.

Daley jumps guard and drags Tiger to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Daley trying to keep a closed guard but Tiger is proving a slippery customer.

Daley is working an open guard so Tiger takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Daley connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Daley bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Tiger's head.
Tiger is trying desperately to land a takedown but Daley is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Tiger.

Tiger uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Daley.
Tiger looks for a takedown but Daley sprawls well.
Daley with a nice cross.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Some bone on bone action there as Tiger checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Daley throws a jab when Tiger was well out of range.

Daley closes the distance and pushes Tiger back into the cage.

Daley pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Daley tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Tiger is able to avoid easily.
Tiger blocks a head kick by Daley.
Tiger uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Daley.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Daley throws a leg kick but Tiger checks it.
Nice uppercut lands for Daley. That snapped Tiger's head back.
Tiger looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Daley throws a low kick, looking for Tiger's leg but Tiger calmly moves out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paul Daley dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Tiger darts in looking for a takedown but Daley gets double underhooks and turns Tiger into the cage.
Daley prevents Tiger from breaking the clinch.
Tiger wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Daley jumps guard and drags Tiger to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Daley wants to sweep here but Tiger controlling him for the moment.
Tiger pushes down on Daley's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Tiger perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Tiger prevents Daley from improving his position.
Tiger is taking a breather. Daley says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Daley is looking to improve his position.
Daley wants to control but Tiger is keeping busy.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Little Tiger.
Tiger staying out of range there.
Tiger displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Daley throws out the jab.
Daley misses with a straight right.
Daley lands an overhand right.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Daley instigates a clinch.
Daley is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Daley fails to pull guard.
Tiger dodges an elbow strike from Daley.
The referee calls for Daley to work.

Daley has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Tiger uses from the top position.
Tiger is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Tiger is pushing down on Daley's leg trying to pass to half guard. Daley is fighting to maintain full guard but Tiger has managed to sneak the leg through.
Daley tries to get to full guard but Tiger has control of the leg.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Daley has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Tiger is working away from the top position though.

Tiger is trying to work for a kimura but Daley is defending well.

Tiger wants to work for an arm triangle but Daley is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Tiger uses his free foot to push down on Daley's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Daley.
Daley tries to lock up and control but Tiger gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Daley wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Daley wants to control his opponent's hands but Tiger gets his hands free.
Daley is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Little Tiger will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's time! Daley's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Daley lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Tiger jumps guard but Daley turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Daley paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Daley lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Daley wants to clinch up but Tiger keeps it at a distance.

Daley forces Tiger back against the cage and clinches.
A short right from Daley.
Tiger working hard to break the clinch.
Tiger is trying to break free.

Daley escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Tiger takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Tiger displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Daley throws out the jab.

Daley tries to close the distance and clinch up but Tiger swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Tiger takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Tiger has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.

Tiger drops down looking for an ankle pick but Daley pulls his leg out and moves away.
Nice defenses there by Tiger.

Tiger tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Daley paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Daley is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Tiger can do to turn this around?
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Tiger shoots in looking for a takedown. Daley tries to sprawl out of it but Tiger keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Daley manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

And that's the end of the fight!
Paul Daley showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Daley has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
