Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Beni Nikaido (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yoshi Yoshida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yukihiro Shimada.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Yoshida shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Nikaido is looking to improve his position.
Nikaido makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Nikaido.
Nikaido looking for a sweep. Not yet Nikaido, not yet.

Nikaido throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Yoshida tries to free his leg and advance position but Nikaido is retaining full guard.
Nikaido trying to keep a closed guard but Yoshida is proving a slippery customer.

Nikaido has his foot on Yoshida's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Yoshida works his way back into a safe position though.
Yoshida trying to control the position from guard on top but Nikaido is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Yoshida thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Nikaido looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Yoshida passes into half guard.
Nikaido is breathing heavily.

Yoshida is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Nikaido defends it well.
Yoshida wants to pass the guard but Nikaido is defending well.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Yoshida trying to control the action but Nikaido is working from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Yoshida swats away the attempt to clinch by Nikaido.
Yoshida shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Nikaido as he avoids it easily.

Nikaido throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Nikaido throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Nikaido drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Nikaido drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Nikaido seems to have locked his on tight now - Yoshida screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Nikaido, as he picks up the win!
