PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jan Jimenez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Salmar Odsson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Odsson has chosen Oasis- Supersonic as his entrance music. Jan Jimenez looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jimenez slips a jab from Odsson.

Odsson throws a strike but Jimenez rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Salmar Odsson was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Odsson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jimenez, pushing him back against the cage.
Jimenez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Jimenez is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Salmar Odsson dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Odsson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Jimenez takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Odsson jabs Jimenez right on the nose. Jimenez blinks but takes it well.
Odsson scores with a sloppy right hand. Jimenez should have avoided that one.

Odsson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jimenez is letting Odsson control him for a moment.
Jimenez gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Jimenez makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Jimenez.
Jimenez is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Jimenez wants to get back to his feet.

Jimenez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Jimenez thows a huge punch but Odsson dodges it nicely.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Odsson can do anything to dispel that myth.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Jimenez in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Odsson tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Jimenez!
