Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sol Morse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lou Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sol Morse!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lou Griffin!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Columbo Gatti and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morse dodges the punch combination from Griffin.
Morse shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Griffin as he avoids it easily.
A combination from Griffin does no damage.
Morse darts in looking for a takedown but Griffin gets double underhooks and turns Morse into the cage.
Morse lands with a short shot to the head.
Morse has Griffin pressed against the cage, preventing Griffin from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Morse scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Griffin gets underhooks to prevent Morse's takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sol Morse. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Morse has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Griffin avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
A shot in the inside from Morse.
Morse tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Morse creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Morse is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Griffin is defending well.

Morse jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Griffin walks away with a smile on his face. Morse gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Griffin lands a nice looking body shot.
A left and a right from Griffin both land. Nice combination.
Griffin swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Lou Griffin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Morse checks the leg kick nicely there.
Griffin looks to land a combination but Morse avoids it well.
Griffin looks winded!
Morse fails with a takedown attempt.
A looping hook to the body misses from Morse. Griffin does a little dance to reset his feet.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Morse.
Some wild striking there from Griffin.
Morse has his takedown stuffed
and Griffin connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Griffin misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
No joy there for Griffin, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Morse could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Griffin throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Morse tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Griffin manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Morse is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Griffin.
A decent looking cross lands there for Griffin.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Griffin fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Morse misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Morse tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Griffin throws a leg kick but Morse sees it coming and moves out of range.

A bone on bone clash there as Morse blocks the leg kick.
Morse goes for a double leg but Griffin avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Griffin continues to drive forward.
Griffin is trying to break the clinch but Morse has him pressed against the cage.
Griffin looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Morse has hold of one of Griffin's legs. Griffin is fighting the takedown attempt but Morse gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Morse decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Griffin, up you get!
Griffin misses with a two punch combination.
Griffin displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Morse.

The fight stays on the outside here - Morse looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Morse shoots in but Griffin avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Griffin throws a series of punches but Morse avoids them all with ease.
Griffin lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Morse circles away quickly and effectively.
Morse shoots for a takedown but Griffin saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Morse is trying hard to land a takedown here. Griffin sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Griffin throws a leg kick but Morse checks it.
Morse looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Griffin is fending him off so far but Morse persists. Nope, Griffin circles away and we're back to standing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Griffin moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Griffin fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Griffin throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Morse.
Morse dives in for a single leg takedown but Griffin sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Morse wants a takedown.
Griffin tries to circle away but Morse has him pinned against the cage.
Morse is working for takedown but Griffin is calmly controlling the position for now.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sol Morse. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Griffin is pressed up against the cage. Morse has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Griffin down to the mat. Griffin avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Griffin throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Morse on the side of the head.
Griffin throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Griffin throws a series of punches but Morse avoids them all with ease.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Morse misses with an elbow strike.
Griffin is trying to break free.
Griffin is trying to break the clinch but Morse is controlling him.
Griffin is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Morse throws a head punch that misses.
Griffin has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Morse tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Griffin smiles and moves away.
Griffin rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Morse moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Griffin lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Morse has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Morse and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Morse tries to close the distance and clinch up but Griffin swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Morse tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Griffin swivels and escapes.

Lou Griffin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Griffin looks to land a combination but Morse avoids it well.

Griffin is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Morse shoots for a double leg takedown but Griffin sprawls well. He's pushed Morse's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Morse goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Lou Griffin seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Morse has taken the fight to the clinch.

Morse jumps guard and drags Griffin to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Griffin controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Morse is striking off his back. Griffin thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard.

Griffin decides to return to a standing position.

Griffin stuffs the takedown attempt from Morse. Morse gets slowly back to his feet.
Griffin misses with the combination.
Griffin tries to bum rush Morse with a series of wild strikes but Morse uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Morse keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Griffin swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Morse moves in looking to clinch but Griffin pushes him off.

Morse shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Morse not landing any meaningful shots this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Lou Griffin will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Griffin lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Morse clinches.
Morse wants a takedown but no success here.

Morse manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Morse wants to hit a switch here but Griffin passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Morse there!
Morse can't escape the position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Griffin wants to control the action but instead Morse gets a body lock and reverses into Griffin's guard! Nice work!

Griffin has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Morse has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Morse lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Morse fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Griffin working hard to break the clinch.
Knees in the clinch landing for Morse.
Morse jumps guard but Griffin stands there with Morse around his waist. Morse gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Morse tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Morse really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill...

Griffin can't break the clinch.
Morse stalling against the cage.
Griffin is trying to force a seperation but Morse has the dominant position.
Morse tries to pull guard but Griffin won't allow it.
Morse tries to score a body lock takedown but Griffin shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Griffin wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Morse keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Griffin's efforts to push away.
Griffin wants to get back to striking at distance but Morse won't allow it.

Morse keeps control of Griffin as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Griffin is trying to break free.
Morse has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Griffin after a bit of a struggle.

Morse successfully pulls guard.
Griffin sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Griffin passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Griffin is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Griffin swings around for an armbar but Morse sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Griffin's guard.
Griffin utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Griffin wants to stand up but Morse is controlling him.

Morse gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Griffin fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Griffin fails to land with a series of punches.
Sol Morse has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Lou Griffin is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Morse just misses with a punch to the body.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Sol Morse.
I think Griffin has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
