Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Adan Leonard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Richmond (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Adan Leonard has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Adan Leonard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Adam Richmond!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Alan Glass and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Richmond fails in his attempt to clinch.
Richmond tries to clinch up but Leonard circles away and keeps his distance.
Leonard fails with the takedown

and Richmond counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Richmond decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Leonard, up you get!

Richmond fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Leonard sprawls well initially but Richmond persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Leonard trying to control from the bottom.
Richmond with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Richmond lands a nice short elbow.
Leonard won't allow Richmond to pass to mount.
Richmond slows the pace down in half guard.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Richmond wants to stand but Leonard has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Richmond stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Richmond looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Leonard has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Richmond is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Leonard.

Richmond stands up and beckons Leonard to his feet.

Leonard tries to sprawl but Richmond drives through with a takedown into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Richmond controlling the action here.
Leonard has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Richmond is working away from the top position though.
Still in half guard, Richmond seems content to control.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Adam Richmond.
Richmond throws a low kick but Leonard avoids it.

Richmond closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Leonard did well to prevent Richmond getting side control.
Richmond thows a huge punch but Leonard dodges it nicely.
Leonard is trying to maintain the position but Richmond is very close to passing his half guard.
Richmond looks to land a strike but Leonard avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Leonard is trying to keep Richmond in close.
Richmond content to stall in guard here.
Richmond working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Richmond is pushing down on Leonard's leg trying to pass to half guard. Leonard is fighting to maintain full guard but Richmond has managed to sneak the leg through.

Richmond seems to be looking for submissions.

Richmond looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Richmond fails in his attempt to clinch.

Richmond closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Leonard to the mat! Leonard manages to get full guard.
Leonard will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Leonard wants to stand but Richmond is controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Richmond wanted to stand there but Leonard had control of the position.

Richmond decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Leonard, up you get!
Richmond just misses with a punch to the body.
Leonard really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Richmond shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Leonard is trying to defend but Richmond finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Richmond stalling.
Leonard wants to get back to his feet.

Richmond not doing much here.
Leonard trying to control but Richmond postures up.
Richmond is taking a breather. Leonard says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Adam Richmond wasn't active enough on the ground.

Richmond changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Leonard looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Richmond is breathing heavily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Richmond trying to control the position but Leonard is working away.
Richmond grinds an elbow into Leonard's temple.

Richmond looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Leonard can't do much from the bottom here.
Richmond is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
You can see the frustration on Leonard's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Richmond in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Richmond tries to score with some ground and pound. Leonard controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Richmond works to advance to full mount. Leonard defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Leonard stops Richmond from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.

Richmond goes for an armbar but Leonard turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Leonard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Adam Richmond showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Leonard scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Leonard is looking to take a break and control but Richmond is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Richmond manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Richmond is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Leonard pulls his head out easily.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Adam Richmond was stalling too much, according to the referee.

You can see the frustration on Leonard's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Richmond decides to stand back up.

Richmond looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Richmond takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Leonard is not content to let Richmond control the position.

Richmond works his foot free and advances to mount.
Richmond fails to take his opponent's back.
Leonard wants to hold on but Richmond pushes him away.

Richmond jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Leonard is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Leonard and Richmond has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Richmond decides to stand back up. Richmond steps back and let's Leonard get back to his feet.
Leonard dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Richmond gets a double leg takedown into Leonard's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Leonard keeping moving, preventing Richmond from controlling successfully.
Richmond trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Adan Leonard has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Adam Richmond is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Richmond wants to control from the top but Leonard keeps moving.

Adam Richmond comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Richmond has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
