Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kalyan Kumar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marshal Erickson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kalyan Kumar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marshal Erickson!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Steve Montenegro and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kumar waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Erickson.
A big right from Kumar misses.
Erickson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kumar pinned against the cage. Kumar gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Kumar fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Erickson on the side of the head.
Kumar swings for the body but Erickson moves out of range.
Kumar looks to land a right hand but Erickson moved out of range.
Erickson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kumar.
Erickson fails with the takedown.
Erickson blocks a jab.
Erickson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Kalyan Kumar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marshal Erickson.
Erickson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kumar sprawls well initially but Erickson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Erickson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Erickson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kumar doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Erickson.
Kumar is breathing heavily.

Erickson is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Erickson is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Kumar knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Erickson on the ground.
Erickson is working for a kimura but Kumar is defending it quite comfortably.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Erickson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kumar defends it well.
Erickson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kumar is just riding it out for now. Erickson eventually gives up the hold.
Kumar is looking to control Erickson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kumar avoid being mounted?
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Erickson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Erickson trying to control from half guard but Kumar is working away.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Erickson is trying to work for a kimura but Kumar is defending well.
Erickson is looking to advance position but Kumar won't allow it.
Erickson passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Kumar!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Erickson is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Erickson!
