Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Conor Connely (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Perkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scott Perkins has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Conor Connely!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Scott Perkins!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Chris Edwards and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Connely throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Connely closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Connely misses with a few strikes there.

Perkins drops Connely with a left right combo! Perkins follows him down to the ground into side control.


It looks like Conor Connely has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Connely takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.


Connely is rocked!

Perkins thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Oh Connely is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Perkins trying to control the position but Connely is working away.
Connely seems to have got his legs back now.

Perkins is trying to get an arm triangle but Connely is defending well.
Perkins just content to control the position.

Perkins goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Connely has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Perkins but great work by Connely.

Connely wants to stand but Perkins is controlling his arm.
Connely is breathing heavily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Perkins pushes Connely away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Connely gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Both fighters take a look at the clock.
Perkins wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Perkins gets the takedown into side control.

Perkins is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Connely knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Perkins drops Connely with a right and a left! Perkins comes rushing in but Connely regains his composure and manages to keep Perkins in guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Perkins content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Perkins is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Perkins distracts Connely with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Perkins postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Connely is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Perkins, into his guard.
Connely is looking to stand up but Perkins won't let him.
Perkins wants to sweep but no luck.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Perkins is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Connely is controlling him.
Connely trying to stand up but can't free himself from Perkins's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Perkins manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Connely's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Connely looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Perkins drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Perkins is trying to drag Connely to the mat but Connely just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Perkins wants to take the fight to the mat but Connely manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Conor Connely has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Scott Perkins.

Perkins feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Perkins accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Connely wants to stand up but Perkins is controlling him.
Perkins distracts Connely with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Scott Perkins showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Perkins throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Connely.
Perkins looks to land a combination but Connely avoids it well.
Scott Perkins seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Connely fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Perkins manages to avoid it.
