Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Aaron Gillespie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rex KwonDo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rex KwonDo is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aaron Gillespie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rex KwonDo!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Tiny Johnson and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
KwonDo misses with a takedown attempt - Gillespie sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Gillespie shoots in but no luck this time.

KwonDo forces Gillespie back against the cage and clinches.

Gillespie manages to break the clinch.
Gillespie throws a right and a left that both miss.
Gillespie misses the jab.

Excellent takedown into side control there by KwonDo.
KwonDo misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Gillespie is trying to buck KwonDo off.
KwonDo controls the position from side control.
Gillespie on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Gillespie tries to get out of the position.

KwonDo thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
KwonDo tries to score with some ground and pound. Gillespie controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

KwonDo tries to advance to mount but Gillespie denies him.
Gillespie really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

KwonDo changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gillespie looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

KwonDo stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Gillespie misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from KwonDo.
Gillespie fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
KwonDo looks gassed!

Gillespie shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Gillespie showed some decent athleticism there.
Gillespie prevents KwonDo from standing back up.

KwonDo is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Gillespie scores with a couple of nice shots.
Gillespie seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
KwonDo regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Gillespie.

KwonDo has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gillespie can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Gillespie gets to his feet. KwonDo looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
KwonDo tries to close the distance and clinch up but Gillespie swats him away and circles back towards the center.
KwonDo tries to clinch but Gillespie moves out of range.
Gillespie throws a good cross that connects.
Gillespie tries to bum rush KwonDo with a series of wild strikes but KwonDo uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Aaron Gillespie will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

It looks like Rex KwonDo has been cut.

Gillespie stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows KwonDo to get to his feet.
Gillespie misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Gillespie keeps the fight on the outside.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

KwonDo throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
KwonDo is looking to clinch but Gillespie is avoiding it.

letting Gillespie counter with a right hand.
Aaron Gillespie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rex KwonDo.
Gillespie slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
KwonDo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Gillespie stalks KwonDo and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into KwonDo's face. KwonDo staggers backwards, shaken.
Gillespie lands a jab to the head.

KwonDo shoots in and bounces Gillespie off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

KwonDo controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
KwonDo landing with the ground and pound.

KwonDo stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Gillespie is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

KwonDo fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Gillespie looks to throw the jab but KwonDo is out of range.
Gillespie scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Gillespie cracks KwonDo with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Gillespie looks to land a combination but KwonDo avoids it well.
KwonDo misses with a takedown attempt
and Gillespie counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
KwonDo looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Gillespie is fending him off so far but KwonDo persists. Nope, Gillespie circles away and we're back to standing.

KwonDo drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
KwonDo trying to control the position from guard on top but Gillespie is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

KwonDo not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
KwonDo would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
KwonDo lands a couple of digs.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
KwonDo missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Aaron Gillespie dominated that second round.

Gillespie tightens his grip and picks KwonDo up, before dumping him to the ground. KwonDo manages to land in guard.

KwonDo wants to control the position but Gillespie says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Gillespie wants to free his trapped foot but KwonDo is holding on for dear life with his legs.
The fighters are battling for position here. KwonDo manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

KwonDo had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Gillespie is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. KwonDo Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Gillespie's back instead.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
KwonDo has good solid back control here.
KwonDo trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.

KwonDo throwing lazy shots from the back mount that aren't doing any damage.
Gillespie is taking damage to the body and head.

KwonDo is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
KwonDo tries to keep control of the position but Gillespie is staying busy.

Gillespie wants to escape the position but for the time being he's just trying to control the pace.
KwonDo slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Aaron Gillespie showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Gillespie, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
