PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Emanuel Mcmahon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sasha Metelkin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Emanuel Mcmahon had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Emanuel Mcmahon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sasha Metelkin!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Metelkin blocks a head kick by Mcmahon.
Metelkin fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Metelkin throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Metelkin misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Mcmahon tries for a takedown but Metelkin sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Metelkin looks to land a left hand but Mcmahon moved out of range nicely.

Metelkin drives through and clinches with Mcmahon against the cage.

Metelkin manages to break the clinch.
Some wild striking there from Metelkin.

Metelkin closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Mcmahon's guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Metelkin trying to control but Mcmahon is working from the bottom.
Mcmahon is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Mcmahon not doing much here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mcmahon could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Emanuel Mcmahon.

Mcmahon shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Metelkin as he avoids it easily.

Metelkin is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Metelkin wants to control from the top but Mcmahon keeps moving.
Metelkin wants to stand and escape but instead Mcmahon has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Mcmahon gets to his feet - Metelkin follows without any prompting.

Metelkin shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Metelkin showed some decent athleticism there.
Mcmahon regains full guard. Nicely done.

Mcmahon wants to sweep but no luck.
Metelkin wants to stand but Mcmahon has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
This has been an exciting period of action!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Metelkin keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Mcmahon's efforts to push away.

Mcmahon manages to pull guard.
Mcmahon might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Metelkin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mcmahon swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Metelkin trying to control the position from guard on top but Mcmahon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Mcmahon manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Mcmahon tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Mcmahon is landing with some decent strikes but Metelkin is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Mcmahon is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Metelkin can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Metelkin is looking to get to half guard.
Mcmahon avoids the attempt from Metelkin to control.
Metelkin is trying to escape the mount.

Mcmahon scoring with strikes but Metelkin is staying in there.
Mcmahon takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Metelkin tries to lock up and control but Mcmahon gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

You get the feeling that Metelkin really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Mcmahon changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Metelkin looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Mcmahon is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Metelkin can't do much from the bottom here.
Mcmahon takes a little break here. Metelkin wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Emanuel Mcmahon showed his dominance in that final round.
