Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jeffrey Mathew (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wiener Wacker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jeffrey Mathew!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wiener Wacker!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Daniel Franklin and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mathew avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Mathew moves in looking to clinch but Wacker pushes him off.
Wacker throws an overhand right that lands on Mathew's shoulder, as Mathew tries to avoid the shot.

Wacker shoots in and gets a takedown into Mathew's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mathew tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Wacker working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Mathew seems keen to control Wacker's posture.
Wacker sitting in guard here, content to control.

Wacker wants to control from the top but Mathew keeps moving.
Wacker really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mathew. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Wiener Wacker hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Mathew throws a good cross that connects.

Wacker moves out of range as Mathew throws a body kick.

and Wacker counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Mathew bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Wacker's guard.

Wacker seems keen to control Mathew's posture.
This has been an exciting period of action!

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Wiener Wacker.
Wacker tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Wacker dives in for a single leg takedown but Mathew sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Mathew has Wacker pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Mathew pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Wacker tumbling to the mat - Mathew dives into Wacker's guard.
Mathew will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Wacker wants to improve his position but instead Mathew has moved into half guard.

Mathew is looking for a kimura here.

Mathew thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Wacker's head.

Wacker changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mathew tries to avoid it but Wacker manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mathew to the ground. Mathew escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Mathew shoots in for a double leg but Wacker sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Mathew has a closed guard, preventing Wacker from standing up.

Wiener Wacker has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Wacker slaps away a takedown attempt from Mathew, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Wacker throws a series of punches but Mathew avoids them all with ease.
Jeffrey Mathew is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Wacker looks to clinch
and Mathew counters with a stiff right hand.
Wacker shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mathew as he jumps to the side.
Mathew's corner calls for a 1-2. Mathew obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Wacker is working for a kimura but Mathew is defending it quite comfortably.
Wacker stops Mathew from getting back to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Wacker slows the pace down in half guard.
Wacker is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.

Wacker throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Mathew looking to hit a scissor sweep but Wacker is one step ahead there.
Wacker advances to half guard.
Wacker is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Mathew wants to stand and escape but Wacker is having none of it.

Mathew working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Wacker doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Wacker manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Mathew controls Wacker momentarily but Wacker frees himself.
Wacker pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mathew is keeping the position for now.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

A close second round but Wiener Wacker will probably get the nod - 10:9.

Wacker swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Wacker tries to clinch but Mathew is having none of it.
Horrible takedown attempt by Wacker or perhaps it was just good defense by Mathew, which made it look bad.
Mathew swats away the attempt to clinch by Wacker.

Wacker tries to pull guard but Mathew forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Jeffrey Mathew has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wiener Wacker.

Mathew manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Mathew has control of Wacker's left arm, preventing Wacker from doing any damage.

Mathew fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Wacker clinches up against the cage.
Wacker jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Mathew walks away with a smile on his face. Wacker gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Mathew gets caught flat footed, as Wacker shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Wacker throws a strike but Mathew rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Wacker wants to sweep here but Mathew controlling him for the moment.
Mathew is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wacker is trying to keep Mathew in close.
Mathew throwing strikes but missing.
Wacker wants to sweep but no luck.
Mathew slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Wiener Wacker has got the better of the ground game so far.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jeffrey Mathew wasn't doing enough on the ground.

and Mathew holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Mathew throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Jeffrey Mathew has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Wiener Wacker is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Mathew breaks from the clinch.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jeffrey Mathew.
I think Wacker has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
