Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between James Neal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ruslan Eremeev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ruslan Eremeev!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Colin Fotheringham and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Eremeev drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Eremeev is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Neal is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Neal has escaped and now he's on top!
Eremeev is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Neal accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Neal might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Eremeev holds on and takes a little breather.

Ruslan Eremeev has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Neal fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Eremeev closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Neal did well to prevent Eremeev getting side control.

Eremeev is looking for a kimura but Neal is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Eremeev to get the leverage.

Neal tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Neal has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Neal swings around for an armbar but Eremeev sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Neal's guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Neal is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Eremeev has escaped the position, nice work there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Neal dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

and Eremeev counters with a nice kick to the body.

Neal shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Eremeev but Eremeev pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Eremeev dives in and scores a takedown into Neal's guard.
Eremeev is looking to advance position but Neal has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Neal goes for an armbar but Eremeev turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Eremeev.

Eremeev drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Neal manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Eremeev has Neal in his guard.

Eremeev seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neal tries to free his leg and advance position but Eremeev is retaining full guard.

Neal drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Neal jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to James Neal.
I think Neal has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
