Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Darnell Mcgowan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alekcey Susaev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alekcey Susaev will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alekcey Susaev!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Alyssa Summers and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Susaev throws a right and a left that Mcgowan avoids nicely.
Mcgowan shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Susaev as he jumps to the side.
Susaev stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Susaev wants it to stay on the feet.
Susaev with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Susaev fails with a takedown attempt.
Susaev misses with a jab, cross combination.
Susaev throws a head kick but Mcgowan moves out of range.

Susaev rushes Mcgowan and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Mcgowan really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Susaev is trying to pull guard but Mcgowan has him pressed against the cage.
Susaev tries to circle away but Mcgowan has him pinned against the cage.
Susaev goes for a takedown in the clinch but Mcgowan prevents it.

Mcgowan has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Susaev avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Mcgowan lands a left hand that snaps the head of Susaev backwards.

A nice left hand lands by Mcgowan.

Susaev breaks from the clinch.
Mcgowan shoots in looking for a takedown but Susaev manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Mcgowan's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Susaev shoots in but no luck this time.
Susaev looks winded!

Mcgowan manages to pull guard.
Susaev has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Mcgowan is proving hard to escape from.

Susaev is looking to work some ground and pound but Mcgowan has wrist control.
Mcgowan manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Susaev manages to get himself to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Susaev wants to sweep here but Mcgowan controlling him for the moment.

Mcgowan gets to his feet. Susaev looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Mcgowan fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Susaev avoids it really well and circles away.
Mcgowan will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Darnell Mcgowan will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Mcgowan looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Susaev is fending him off so far but Mcgowan persists. Nope, Susaev circles away and we're back to standing.

Susaev gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Susaev has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Mcgowan is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Susaev drops down looking for an ankle pick but Mcgowan pulls his leg out and moves away.
Mcgowan shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Mcgowan looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Susaev is fending him off so far but Mcgowan persists. Nope, Susaev circles away and we're back to standing.

Mcgowan tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Susaev defends well and Mcgowan ends up having to push Susaev into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Susaev closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Susaev gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Mcgowan.
Susaev is trying to break the clinch but Mcgowan is controlling him.

Mcgowan ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Mcgowan no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Susaev tries to reverse the position but Mcgowan maintains control.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Susaev tries to control Mcgowan's body but Mcgowan pushes him off. Susaev squirms to his side and now Mcgowan has his back!

Darnell Mcgowan showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mcgowan, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
