Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Guadalupe Winters!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bel Ly!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yuuki Gou and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Winters enables Ly to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Winters manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Ly postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ly looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Ly content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Ly stands up over Winters, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Ly throws an elbow that misses. Winters uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Ly's guard. Nice move by Winters!

Ly avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Ly is adopting a defensive guard.
Winters content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Winters has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Ly is proving hard to escape from.

Ly seems keen to control Winters's posture.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ly can do anything to dispel that myth.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Bel Ly.

Ly fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Winters to the ground. Ly is now in Winters's guard.
Ly wants to stand but Winters has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Ly scoring with punches to the head and body.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ly is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Ly trying to control from half guard but Winters is working away.
Ly is thwarting Winters's attempts to control the position.
Ly is trying to control the action in half guard but Winters is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Ly tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

Ly is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Winters doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ly.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ly trying to pass the guard but Winters defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bel Ly dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Winters shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Winters thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Ly trying to control here.
Ly is trying to stand up here but Winters is controlling him well.
Winters seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Ly tries to get to full guard but Winters has control of the leg.
Winters stops Ly from getting back to his feet.
Ly tries to roll over but Winters keeps him under control.

Winters is looking for a kimura but Ly is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Winters to get the leverage.
Ly makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Ly.
Winters scoring with punches to the head and body.
Winters preventing the sweep.
Ly is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Ly utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Ly is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Ly is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Ly is breathing heavily.

Ly pulls Winters in close to prevent any damage.
Winters throwing strikes from guard but Ly blocks nicely.

Winters wants to stand but Ly has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Winters in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Bel Ly was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Ly throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Ly misses with a head kick.
Ly tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Ly shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Winters trying to control from the bottom.
Ly wants to advance to full mount but Winters doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Ly is fighting to break Winters's control of his arms but Winters is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Ly is looking to stand up but Winters won't let him.
Winters pulls Ly in close to prevent any damage.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Guadalupe Winters just wasn't active enough.
Winters keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Bel Ly will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!


Ly misses with a head kick.

Ly is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Winters's half guard.
Ly uses his free foot to push down on Winters's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Winters.
Bel Ly has got the better of the ground game so far.
Winters is in a horrible position here. Ly smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.


It looks like Guadalupe Winters has been cut.
Ly tries to control but Winters wriggling away.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Winters is looking to improve his position but Ly isn't that keen on the idea.
Winters wants to control but Ly is having none of it.

Ly wants to control the pace but Winters is squirming around nicely.
Ly is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Winters tries to control Ly's body but Ly pushes him off. Winters squirms to his side and now Ly has his back!

What can Winters do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Ly's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Winters on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Winters is trying to force a seperation but Ly has the dominant position.
Ly makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Ly successfully pulls guard.

Winters won't allow Ly to sweep him here.

Ly is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Ly takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Ly lands some strikes from the bottom.
Ly tries to strike from the bottom.
Winters cracks Ly with a solid left hand.
Ly looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Winters throwing strikes but missing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ly has momentary wrist control but Winters slips an elbow through the middle.
Guadalupe Winters has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Bel Ly is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Well Ly has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
