Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Robert Kalvinson!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shaft rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kalvinson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Kalvinson pushes Shaft up against the ropes in a clinch.
Shaft is trying to break free.
Kalvinson fails to pull guard.
Shaft tries to break the clinch but Kalvinson is controlling the position.

Kalvinson has picked Shaft up - he's going for a ride! Kalvinson dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Shaft is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Kalvinson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Kalvinson's back!
Shaft has the hooks in. Kalvinson is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Shaft swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Kalvinson is now in Shaft's guard. A big mistake from Shaft there, giving up the dominant position!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Kalvinson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Shaft to the mat! Shaft manages to get full guard.

Kalvinson moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Shaft has worked his arm free - good work by Shaft!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Kalvinson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Shaft but Shaft pushes him off and we're back to square one.

It looks like Robert Kalvinson has been cut.
Shaft swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Kalvinson connects with a nice short shot to Shaft's temple.

Shaft throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Shaft fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Kalvinson.

Kalvinson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Shaft but Shaft pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Shaft has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kalvinson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

John Shaft has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Shaft escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kalvinson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Kalvinson stands and throws Shaft's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Kalvinson avoids the strikes from the bottom by Shaft.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Kalvinson working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Kalvinson wants to stand but Shaft is controlling his arm.

And that's the end of the fight!
Robert Kalvinson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Kalvinson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
