PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Larry Hoover (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alligator Dundee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alligator Dundee told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Larry Hoover !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alligator Dundee!
The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Topper Green and Damien Edna.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Dundee finds it's way through Hoover 's defenses.
Hoover definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Dundee throws a head kick that Hoover semi-blocks.

Dundee decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Hoover keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Hoover works his way to full guard. Good work.
Dundee trying to control the position from guard on top but Hoover is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Dundee throwing strikes from guard but Hoover blocks nicely.
Hoover is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hoover wants to pass to mount but Dundee is defending the position.
Hoover is trying to control. Dundee wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Hoover wants to stand up but Dundee has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Dundee is looking for a sweep. Hoover is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Dundee really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hoover . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
It looks like Hoover is going to stand back up.
Hoover trying to mount his opponent but Dundee defends it.
Hoover prevents Dundee from improving his position.

Hoover looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Well, if Hoover is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Hoover is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Dundee is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Hoover jumps into side control!

Hoover happy to just control the position for now.
Dundee is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Dundee tries to control but Hoover manages to take his back.
Hoover will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Dundee looking very determined here, making life difficult for Hoover .
Hoover has the hooks in. Dundee is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Hoover biding his time, looking for the opening.
Hoover connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Dundee to escape the position.

Hoover tries to get the hooks in deep but Dundee pushed the leg off.
Dundee is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Hoover has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Dundee! Can he survive? No! He's out! Hoover gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
