Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cortez Brennan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Drake Kartella (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kartella is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Rollin. Cortez Brennan has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Cortez Brennan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Drake Kartella!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Summer Carpenter and Damien Edna.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kartella throws a big shot that misses.
A shot to the liver by Kartella. Beautiful body shot.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Kartella enables Brennan to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Kartella manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kartella is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Brennan is controlling him.

Brennan stands and steps away. Kartella gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Brennan will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Brennan dives in and grabs Kartella's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kartella pushes down on Brennan's head and hops out.
Kartella lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

It looks like Cortez Brennan has been cut.
Kartella throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Brennan stumbling backwards into the cage! Brennan bounces back off the cage towards Kartella, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Kartella lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Kartella celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Drake Kartella!
After winning the bout, Drake Kartella thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
