PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Simon Frazier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyle Streets (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Streets's choice of entrance music: ONE TIME' by Jai One. On his way into the cage it seems that Simon Frazier has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Simon Frazier seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kyle Streets!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Streets moves to clinch but Frazier breaks away
and Frazier counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Streets gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Frazier counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Frazier dives in and scores a takedown into Streets's guard.
Frazier tries to free his leg and advance position but Streets is retaining full guard.
Frazier knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Streets on the ground.
Frazier seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Frazier has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Streets is proving hard to escape from.
Frazier is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Frazier stands and steps away. Streets gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Frazier rushes Streets and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Streets throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Frazier escapes and throws Streets's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Frazier connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Streets some visible discomfort.

It looks like Kyle Streets has been cut.
Streets pulls out of a head kick attempt.

We're going to have a standup here because Simon Frazier wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Frazier closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Streets takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Frazier feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Frazier's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
