Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Landon Parsons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Boris Bakkes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Landon Parsons!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Boris Bakkes!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Alyssa Summers and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Parsons gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Bakkes is struggling to control the position.

Bakkes wants the takedown. Parsons is fighting it off but Bakkes persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Parsons's guard against the cage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bakkes is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Parsons is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Parsons has escaped and now he's on top!

Bakkes is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Parsons defends well.

Bakkes has his foot on Parsons's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Parsons works his way back into a safe position though.

Parsons postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Bakkes is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Parsons, into his guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Parsons doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Bakkes is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Bakkes gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Parsons clinches up with Bakkes and pushes him back against the cage.

Bakkes is trying to trip Parsons. He has hold of a leg but Parsons is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Bakkes persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Parsons had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Bakkes defends it easily.
Bakkes is working Parsons over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Bakkes is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Bakkes throws a big elbow that misses.

Bakkes drops back, looking for a kneebar! Parsons looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Parsons looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Parsons!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bakkes can do anything to dispel that myth.

Parsons thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Parsons wants to control for a moment but Bakkes uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.

Bakkes is staying active underneath Parsons, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Bakkes shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Parsons's guard.

Bakkes throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.

Parsons is trying to control the action in half guard but Bakkes is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Bakkes changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Parsons looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

You can see the frustration on Parsons's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Parsons wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.

Boris Bakkes showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Parsons is on the bottom, trying to hold on to half guard. He's throwing a few small shots here, to keep his opponent honest.

Bakkes is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Parsons is just riding it out for now. Bakkes eventually gives up the hold.

Bakkes decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Bakkes takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Bakkes decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Landon Parsons is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Bakkes feints and as Parsons raises his hands in defense, Bakkes changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Parsons can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Bakkes controls the pace.

Parsons will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Parsons shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Bakkes manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Bakkes darts in and clinches Parsons up against the cage.

Bakkes is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Parsons can't fight it off and eventually Bakkes manages to take the fight to the floor. Parsons looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Bakkes postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Parsons is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Bakkes, into his guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Parsons wants to control from the top but Bakkes keeps moving.

Boris Bakkes comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Bakkes has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
