Valdemes gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Okafor connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
No luck for Valdemes with that takedown attempt.
Okafor scores with a hook to the body. Valdemes takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Okafor misses with a looping left.
Valdemes fails with the takedown
and Okafor counters with a head kick that wobbles Valdemes - left then right he sways and one more bomb from Okafor sends him down. This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Abah Okafor!

Abah Okafor decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
