Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jefferey Henderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alonso Quijano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jefferey Henderson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alonso Quijano!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Quijano scores with a takedown into Henderson's guard.

Henderson isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Quijano stacks Henderson on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Quijano!
Henderson is trying to get back to half guard.

Quijano wants to control but Henderson is keeping him busy.

Quijano is trying to get an arm triangle but Henderson is defending well.
Henderson manages to get back to half guard.

Quijano is pressing down on Henderson's thigh, looking to free his foot. Henderson is holding on for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Alonso Quijano hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Quijano pushes Henderson up against the cage in a clinch.

Quijano blocks an elbow strike.

Quijano works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Quijano controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Quijano wants to control from the top but Henderson keeps moving.
Quijano is looking to stand up but Henderson won't let him.
Quijano is pushing down on Henderson's leg trying to pass to half guard. Henderson is fighting to maintain full guard but Quijano has managed to sneak the leg through.

Quijano seems to be working for a kimura but Henderson defends the submission attempt.

Quijano is stalling here. Henderson is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Quijano seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Henderson has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Henderson tries to sprawl but Quijano drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Quijano looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Henderson is looking for a sweep. Quijano is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

It looks like Quijano is going to stand back up.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Alonso Quijano hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Quijano is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alonso Quijano showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Quijano connects with a body shot that sends Henderson's belly button to the back.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Henderson enables Quijano to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Henderson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Henderson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Quijano can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Alonso Quijano wasn't active enough on the ground.

Quijano moves nicely into side control.

Quijano has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Henderson's face.

Alonso Quijano comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Quijano has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
