The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Contrelle falls off balance throwing a combination
and Jacobs holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Contrelle closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Jacobs tries to improve position but can't.
Contrelle wants to control but Jacobs is keeping him busy.
Contrelle is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Contrelle drops back looking for a leg! Jacobs is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jacobs manages to kick Contrelle off! Contrelle jumps back into Jacobs's guard.

and Jacobs decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Contrelle's guard.

Contrelle lands a left and a right that send Jacobs crashing to the mat, dazed. Contrelle thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
It looks like Kevin Jacobs has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jacobs shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Contrelle defends it nicely.
Jacobs tries to clinch but Contrelle is having none of it.
Contrelle closes the distance and pushes Jacobs back into the cage.

Contrelle has a closed guard, preventing Jacobs from standing up.

Contrelle bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jacobs's guard.
Jacobs escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Contrelle gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Jacobs looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Contrelle passes into side control.
Contrelle stands up and beckons Jacobs to his feet.

Contrelle misses with a series of wild punches.
Contrelle gets a clinch.
Contrelle breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Contrelle feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Contrelle should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Contrelle passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Contrelle misses with the ground and pound.
Contrelle decides to stand up, so the ref orders Jacobs to his feet.
Contrelle closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Jacobs's guard.
Contrelle wants to pass the guard but Jacobs is keeping the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jacobs has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Contrelle off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lorenzo Contrelle showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
A momentary lapse in concentration from Jacobs enables Contrelle to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Jacobs manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Jacobs will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Contrelle decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Contrelle drives through and clinches with Jacobs against the cage.
Jacobs tries to circle away but Contrelle has him pinned against the cage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Contrelle has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Jacobs uses from the top position.

Well Contrelle has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
