And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Felipe Paraventi and Paulo Santos.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Petrovic moves into the clinch.

Cherry is trying to trip Petrovic. He has hold of a leg but Petrovic is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Cherry persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Cherry decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Petrovic, up you get!

Petrovic closes the distance and clinches.

Petrovic pulls guard effortlessly.
Petrovic has control of Cherry's left arm, preventing Cherry from doing any damage.

Cherry drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Petrovic manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Cherry has Petrovic in his guard.
Petrovic looking to sit in guard and control but Cherry gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Petrovic looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Cherry would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Petrovic is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Cherry wants to get up but he can't break Petrovic's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Petrovic pushes Cherry off and gets back to his feet.
Cherry really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Petrovic looks to clinch
and Cherry counters with a three punch combo that has Petrovic backing up. Petrovic nods at Cherry to acknowledge the strikes.
Cherry keeps the fight on the outside.

Petrovic looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Petrovic trying to control the position from guard on top but Cherry is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Petrovic in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Petrovic is looking to work some ground and pound but Cherry has wrist control.

Cherry is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Petrovic is aware though and is defending well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Petrovic lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Petrovic has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Cherry is proving hard to escape from.
Petrovic wants to control from the top but Cherry keeps moving.

Cherry is working an open guard so Petrovic takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Cherry tries to sprawl but Petrovic drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Petrovic seems to be working for a kimura but Cherry defends the submission attempt.
Petrovic trying to control the action but Cherry is working from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brutus Petrovic dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Petrovic ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Petrovic cracks Cherry with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Cherry falls to his knees and Petrovic doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
