Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Barry Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Bonham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bonham has chosen A Bid Farewell as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Seu Braga and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith gets a takedown into half guard.
Bonham misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Smith prevents Bonham from improving his position.
Smith wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bonham keeps working.
Bonham holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Bonham makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Bonham.

Smith stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bonham swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Smith lands a nice looking kick to the body. Bonham takes a step back to recover.
Bonham looks gassed!
Smith fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Bonham bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Smith is looking for a sweep.
Smith sneaks back into half guard.
Smith moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Smith has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Bonham doesn't defend quickly enough and Smith has managed to lock this one up! Can Bonham escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Smith on a fantastic submission victory.
