PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Knight (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mohamed Hassan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Knight kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Killing In The Name. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Thomas Knight!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Mohamed Hassan!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Gregory Folan and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Knight rushes Hassan and presses him up against the cage.

Knight has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Hassan regains guard immediately.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Knight throws a big right hand that misses.
Knight throwing strikes but missing.
Knight working some strikes from top position.
Knight throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Knight in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Knight has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Knight lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Hassan is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Knight is controlling him.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Knight lands a couple of digs.
Knight pushing down on Hassan's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Hassan looks like he's trying to stand up.
Knight is trying to control the action in half guard but Hassan is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Hassan is looking for a sweep. Knight is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Hassan looking for submissions off his back.

Hassan is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Knight pulls his head out easily.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Knight connects with a nice short shot to Hassan's temple.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Knight is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Knight wants to pass to mount but Hassan is defending the position.
Hassan is trying to control but Knight passes into side control!
Knight trying to control the position but Hassan is working away.
Knight is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Hassan is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hassan can do anything to dispel that myth.
Knight working the body and head with strikes.
Hassan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Knight. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Knight tries to move to mount but Hassan blocks the move with his legs.
A lull in the action here.
Knight working the ground and pound.
Knight slows the pace down.
Hassan is looking to reverse the position.
Hassan wants to control but Knight postures up.
Knight scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Hassan to see if he's OK.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hassan is trying to improve his position.
Knight cracks Hassan with a big elbow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Knight cracks Hassan with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Knight moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Knight has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Knight scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Hassan is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Knight can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Thomas Knight!
Thomas Knight decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
