Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Knob Creek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mat Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mat Diaz will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Knob Creek!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mat Diaz!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Diaz throws a right and a left that Creek avoids nicely.
Creek moves out of range as Diaz strikes.

Creek fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Diaz to the ground. Creek is now in Diaz's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Creek trying to control the position from guard on top but Diaz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Creek pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Diaz is keeping the position for now.
Creek trying to control but Diaz is working from the bottom.
Creek is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Diaz looking for a sweep. Not yet Diaz, not yet.
Diaz keeping full guard, as Creek tries to pass.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Knob Creek wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Diaz misses the shot to the body.
Diaz blocks a jab.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Diaz missing with a left hand there. Creek was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Diaz throws a lazy right hand but Creek sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Diaz will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Diaz rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Creek moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Diaz fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Creek fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Diaz sprawls well initially but Creek persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Creek prevents Diaz from improving his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Creek is pressing down on Diaz's thigh, looking to free his foot. Diaz is holding on for now.
Diaz looks like he's trying to stand up.
Diaz makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Diaz.

Diaz is looking to cinch up a triangle. Creek throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Diaz's body to avoid the submission. Diaz has instead reached around Creek's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Diaz arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Mat Diaz!
