The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bautista looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Bautista changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Pelono looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Pelono is working to avoid the ground and pound but Bautista connects with a decent elbow.
Pelono could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Bautista sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Pelono's guard.

Bautista is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Pelono is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

A relieved looking Darek Bautista thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
