Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ben Askren!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Drunken Hermit!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Winston Alpacca and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Askren gets a takedown into half guard.
Hermit is trying to control but Askren passes into side control!
Hermit is looking to regain half guard here but Askren keeps moving and retains side control.
Hermit is not content to let Askren control the position.

Askren wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hermit, who protects the arm well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Askren trying to control the position but Hermit is working away.
Hermit is trying to control Askren's posture but Askren avoids it.
Hermit is looking for a sweep.
Hermit wants to control but Askren postures up.
Askren wants to control but Hermit is keeping him busy.

Hermit can't do much from the bottom here.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Hermit closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Askren to the mat! Askren manages to get full guard.

Hermit got a little sloppy there for a moment and Askren has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hermit has managed to get both his arms back between Askren's legs - danger averted.

Hermit is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Askren is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Askren has escaped and now he's on top!

Hermit is looking for a triangle here but Askren uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Askren looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Hermit is trying to control Askren's posture but Askren avoids it.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Askren is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Hermit has escaped the position, nice work there.
Hermit regains half guard there - taking advantage of Askren's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ben Askren dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Askren shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Askren showed some decent athleticism there.

Askren is looking for a kimura here.

Hermit lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Askren!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
A nice elbow there by Hermit.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Askren wants to control but Hermit is having none of it.

Askren tries to lock up and control but Hermit gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hermit breaks from Askren's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Oh Askren is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hermit wants to control the pace but Askren is squirming around nicely.
Hermit cracks Askren with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Drunken Hermit!
Our winner, Drunken Hermit, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
