PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight kickboxing rules bout between Mark Addison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tihon Lapardin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tihon Lapardin told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lapardin has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Addison finds it's way round the side to connect with Lapardin's head.
Addison swats away the attempt to clinch by Lapardin.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Lapardin tries to clinch but Addison is having none of it.
Addison circles away from the clinch attempt.
Lapardin tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Addison throws a hook but Lapardin avoids it easily.

Lapardin has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Lapardin there as he acknowledges the shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Addison lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Lapardin circles away quickly and effectively.
Lapardin throws the kick towards the body but Addison avoids it.
Tihon Lapardin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Addison slips a jab and a cross from Lapardin.
Addison thumps Lapardin with a low kick.
Addison circles away from the clinch attempt
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Addison throws a leg kick which misses Lapardin's front leg but catches the back leg as Lapardin tries to avoid it.
Addison lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Addison scores with a crisp jab that stopped Lapardin in his tracks.
Lapardin takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Lapardin is breathing heavily.
This has been an exciting period of action!

and Addison makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Lapardin really felt that one!
Lapardin on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Addison. Addison obviously looking to wear him down.

Good leg kick by Addison there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Lapardin tries to move into range but Addison moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Lapardin has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Addison.

Addison clips Lapardin with a right and a left that makes him do the chicken dance for a couple of seconds. He touched his left hand down on the canvas so the referee steps between the fighters to give Lapardin a standing 8 count before we can continue the bout.

Addison closes the distance and catches Lapardin with a lead hook that drops him to the canvas! Lapardin is clearly dazed and struggling here! 3,4,5,6,7 and Lapardin is up to his feet but the referee has called it off! Lapardin is still far too wobbly and he's not going to allow the fight to continue! Addison takes it!
