PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Crim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Hara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hara has chosen The Who - Eminence front as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Thomas Crim!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 31 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Josh Hara!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Colin Fray and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crim takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.


It looks like Thomas Crim has been cut.
Hara swinging wildly here.
Crim tries to move into range but Hara moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Hara manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Crim on his heels. He'll look to pass Crim's guard now, I'm sure.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Hara drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hara jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've been hearing that Crim has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Hara wants to sweep here but Crim controlling him for the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Crim got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hara has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Crim has managed to get both his arms back between Hara's legs - danger averted.

Crim throws an elbow that misses. Hara uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Crim's guard. Nice move by Hara!

Crim is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hara is aware though and is defending well.

Hara sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Crim's guard.

Crim has hold of Hara's hands but Hara slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Hara seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hara working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Crim flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Crim lands a couple of sideways elbows.
Hara lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Crim might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Crim has hold of Hara's hands but Hara slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Josh Hara dominated that round.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Hara ducks under a wild hook from Crim.
Hara takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Nice takedown defense from Crim. No joy for Hara on that attempt.
A big right from Crim misses.
Sloppy strikes from Hara. Those never looked like landing.
Crim scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Crim misses with a looping left.
Hara throws an overhand right that lands on Crim's shoulder, as Crim tries to avoid the shot.
Hara misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Crim connects with a right hand. Hara shakes it off.
Hara misses with the combination.
Hara swinging wildly here.
Hara lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Crim circles away quickly and effectively.

Hara looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Crim moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Crim is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Hara frees his head nicely. Oh but Crim has switched to an armbar! Hara is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Armbar). Thomas Crim!
