Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nate Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricardo Meneses (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nate Diaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ricardo Meneses! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Robert Twigg and Wesley Smith.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz scores a takedown into full mount! Diaz manages to capitalize on a mistake by Meneses to take his back! Meneses prevents Diaz from getting a body triangle. Diaz is hanging on to Meneses's back as he tries to escape.
Diaz goes for a risky armbar from back mount and it's not paid off. Meneses escapes and is now in half guard on top. Meneses keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Diaz looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Diaz is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Meneses in particular looking to stall. Meneses is looking to take a break and control but Diaz is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Diaz is looking to improve his position.
Meneses is taking a breather. Diaz says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Meneses wants to stand up but Diaz is controlling the position.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Meneses sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Diaz defending well though.
 Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Meneses with a lazy takedown attempt
and Diaz decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Meneses's guard. Meneses keeping full guard, as Diaz tries to pass.
Meneses is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Diaz slips nicely into half guard.

 That's three minutes gone in the round. Diaz passes the guard and advances to mount! Meneses is looking to get to half guard. Meneses really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Diaz. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Diaz has hold of Meneses's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Meneses manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Diaz prevents Meneses from getting the reversal. Meneses is squirming around, avoiding Diaz's attempts to control the action. Meneses's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Meneses looks gassed! Diaz trying to control but he's not successful this time. Meneses wants to control but Diaz is having none of it. Meneses wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nate Diaz dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Diaz controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Meneses advances to full mount. Diaz tries to lock up and control but Meneses gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Meneses unloads with some shots from mount but Diaz bucks and avoids them well.

 That's one minute gone in the round. Meneses can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Diaz is looking to escape. Diaz sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Meneses wants to stand but Diaz has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Meneses is breathing heavily. Meneses is looking to stall here but Diaz recovers full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Meneses stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Diaz swivels though and keeps the full guard.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

 That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Meneses tries to escape the position.

Diaz is persistently looking for the submission but Meneses is defending it well.
Meneses is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Diaz off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

That was a close second round but I would say that Nate Diaz will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Diaz had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Meneses is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Diaz Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Meneses's back instead.
Diaz is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

 That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Meneses tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Diaz trying to control but Meneses is having none of it. Meneses tries to hold on but Diaz pushes him away. Diaz trying to control but he's not successful this time. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that's the end of the fight! Ricardo Meneses comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Diaz has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
