Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Heath Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Greg Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Greg Johnson will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Greg Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Ben Watson and Ron Honeybunn.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jackson instigates a clinch.
Jackson jumps guard but Johnson stands there with Jackson around his waist. Jackson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Johnson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Greg Johnson wasn't active enough on the ground.
Jackson tries for a takedown but Johnson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Jackson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Johnson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jackson somewhat.

Johnson instigates a clinch.
Jackson wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Jackson has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Johnson lands on the inside with an uppercut.

and Jackson counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Johnson!

Johnson is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Jackson's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Jackson throws a strike but Johnson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Johnson wants to stand but Jackson is controlling his posture from full guard.
Johnson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Johnson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Jackson misses with a takedown attempt - Johnson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Jackson goes for a double leg but Johnson avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Johnson continues to drive forward.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Johnson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Jackson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Jackson shoots in looking for a takedown. Johnson tries to sprawl out of it but Jackson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Johnson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Jackson is trying to break free.
Jackson tries a knee to the head but Johnson blocks it.
Johnson tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Jackson wants to get back to striking at distance but Johnson won't allow it.

Jackson manages to pull guard.
Jackson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Johnson's guard.

Johnson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Greg Johnson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Jackson shoots in and drives through. Johnson sprawls well.
Johnson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jackson pinned against the cage. Jackson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Johnson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Jackson checks a leg kick.

Jackson rushes Johnson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Jackson throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Johnson blocks it with crossed arms.

Jackson pushes Johnson off looking to stand but Johnson dives back in and keeps control.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Johnson in particular looking to stall.
Let's hope that Johnson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jackson wants to hold on but Johnson pushes him away.

Johnson is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Jackson has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Jackson!

Jackson throws an elbow that misses. Johnson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Jackson's guard. Nice move by Johnson!
Heath Jackson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Greg Johnson is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Johnson is on the wrong end of a couple of strikes there.
