The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mason swings for the body but Christian moves out of range.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Mason.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mason stands up and beckons Christian to his feet.

Mason has taken the fight to the clinch.
The referee is keeping an eye on Mason - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Christian tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Christian decides to pull guard.
Mason engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Christian kicks Mason off and gets to his feet.

Christian gets caught napping as Mason dives in and scores a takedown. Christian manages to retain guard.

Christian throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Mason escapes and throws Christian's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Christian wants to control but Mason postures up.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Tyler Mason hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Christian shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mason sprawls well. Mason wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Christian gets slowly back to his feet.

Mason shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Christian's guard.

Mason swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Christian.

Christian is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Mason's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Mason's back!
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Christian's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Christian is standing up, even though he is in mount.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Mason lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Christian has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Christian and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Mason shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Christian napping and manages to drive through into side control!
