Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joseph Franck!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Saulo Riberio!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Joseph Jones and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riberio walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Riberio tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Franck counters with a stiff right hand.
Franck misses with a two punch combination.
Franck scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Franck swinging wildly here.
Nice straight punches there by Franck. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Franck.

Franck throws a looping overhand right but Riberio ducks down to avoid it.
Riberio wants to clinch.
Franck connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Riberio's hands.
Franck throws a jab but it's blocked by Riberio.
Riberio is looking to clinch.
Franck fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Riberio manages to avoid it.

Franck throws a right and a left that Riberio avoids nicely.
No joy there for Franck, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Riberio has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Riberio takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

and Riberio takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

It looks like Saulo Riberio has been cut.
Franck is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Riberio wants to clinch but Franck slips to the side
and Franck counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
A combination from Franck does no damage.

Franck lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Riberio circles away quickly and effectively.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Riberio shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Riberio was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Franck tries to bench press Riberio off him but Riberio keeps the position.

Franck is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Synergy Fight Team , so we'll see if he gets out of it.

Riberio tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Riberio has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Franck knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Riberio on the ground.

Riberio jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Franck walks away with a smile on his face. Riberio gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Franck fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Riberio manages to avoid it.
Franck throws a shot to the body.
Riberio walks into a left hand.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Franck closes the distance and lands a one-two.

And that's the end of the fight!
