The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Griffin darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Santos is looking to control Griffin 's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Santos avoid being mounted?
Santos regains full guard. Nicely done.
Griffin wants to get up but he can't break Santos's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Santos looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Griffin is keen to just control but Santos is a slippery customer.
Santos is trying to get back to full guard.

Griffin bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Griffin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Santos keeps working.

Santos gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Santos is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Griffin pulls his head out easily.

Santos looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Griffin has picked Santos up and slammed him! Santos can't keep hold of the triangle and Griffin manages to pass to side control!

Griffin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Santos on the ground.

Griffin stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Santos connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Griffin momentarily.
Griffin wants to clinch up but Santos keeps it at a distance.

Griffin misses with a jab, cross combination.
Griffin takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Thiago Griffin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Griffin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Santos's waist but Santos gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Griffin off to one side.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Griffin throws a big right hand that misses.

Santos is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Griffin has his hands clasped together but Santos extends an breaks Griffin 's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Santos.
